Bold and beautiful in Mt Eden.

As repeat clients, this professional couple in Mt Eden gave me a free rein to craft a space that is functional, yet whimsical and colourful. Inspired by mid-century themes, the sofa has a reclining back that is a clever design for comfort, and maybe a cheeky nap or two. The custom rug adds a bold pop of colour that contrasts with the muted sofa, and its asymmetric lines add a hint of texture.

The bespoke ottoman is upholstered in an outdoor fabric for added durability and the unique, slanted side table offers much needed surface area for a coffee or cocktail while relaxing. The red “love chair” is designed for just that, as two people can cuddle up at once and its sherpa boucle texture helps this swivelling showpiece take centre stage in the room. The clients artwork blends seamlessly into the space, along with the existing curtains. The cushions, in their varied fabrics and designs, fuse the colour scheme together.

Finally, the couple engaged my interior staging service to fill the shelves by the fireplace and to weave in items from their previous home, this finished the space and gave it a warm, relaxing feel.
