This love-filled little home was 150 years old, so it is no wonder that the bathroom was in dire need of renovation to accommodate its growing family. I wanted to create a functional, yet elegant space that would honour the character of the home. We stripped the room back, and of course encountered some head-scratching challenges that one would expect from a property of this age. Previously, there was no shower and this was a must-have with sports-loving boys. For the fit-out I selected sophisticated fittings in gunmetal and a herringbone tile with a dark grout to create some drama. The brushed granite vanity bench-top is durable enough withstand the wear and tear of family life, and the simple Italian light fitting and white basin are the perfect blend for an elegant finish. The heated towel rail and mirror will keep moisture at bay, even with multiple users in a short space of time.
