On the Mark!

This project is the perfect example of how a major downsize from a large family house to an urban apartment in Newmarket does not mean that you have to sacrifice a cozy homey vibe. We of course wanted to integrate pieces that they already owned and use colours and textures to bring in cohesiveness so that everything blended beautifully. Optimising space was a concern so I created this custom entertainment centre that would hide away unsightly cords and such. In the living area I went with stripes and pops of mustard and a large gold mirror that added not only a touch of elegance but also the illusion of a larger room. The NZ custom made wooden  dining table made the perfect spot for meals in a size that did not overwhelm the area.

For the bedroom I selected a textural mix of velvets and a traditional white cotton quilt along with two accent pillows with a lively stylised print. Employing a local funiture maker to make the bedhead along with the sofa and striped chairs in the living space.
